OneSails supports ORC Worlds' 2021 pre-regatta and is the Official Sails Partner

Updated: May 13, 2021

The organizers of the 2021 ORC Worlds are happy to offer an opportunity to test the waters of the 2021 Worlds’ venue in Tallinn organizing a warm-up regatta with up to seven windward-leeward races during two racing days from August 4th to 5th. The regatta will be named after its supporting sponsor – OneSails Cup 2021. We are also glad to introduce OneSails as the official Sails Partner and Overnight Repair Provider of the ORC Worlds 2021.

The Notice of Race of the OneSails Cup has been published and registration is open with additional information at https://www.orcworlds2021.com/onesailscup2021

OneSails is increasing its reputation and results among Estonian sailors every year, and Estonian yachts have achieved very significant victories with OneSails sails! In 2019, when the title competition was last held, Sugar III won the title of World Champion in the ORC C class and the title of European Champion was won by Matilda 4 also in the class ORC C. Therefore, it was a logical continuation for OneSails to support the competition in Estonia to be even closer to its customers' joys and worries.

Respect for the environment is one of the OneSails main priorities, thus maintaining a concrete focus on growing environmental issues. The further commitment of OneSails to the environment is aimed at the recovery of disused sails and the progressive expansion of the recovery cycle and recycling of selective materials. OneSails's flagship product - 4T FORTE ™ - the revolutionary continuous yarns composite technology and 4T FORTE ™ sailing recycling process complies with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards. Currently the process to get ISO 140001 (lower CO2 emission) certificate is underway.

Also, FLEXON COMPOSITES, as producer of OneSails membranes got the certification of production plant according to the ISO-EN 14000 which relates to the management of the environment impact to be minimum and monitored all the way by having the lowest energy consumption (and mostly by renewable sources), not using harmful materials or additives etc. This is quite a rare certification for industrial plants involving the ‘green’ matters.

Valuing and paying respect to the environment will be in focus also for the organizers and supporters of the 2021 ORC World Championship in Tallinn. Closer to the event we are going to introduce the activities and behaviors to follow at the venue and on the water.
